Terms and Conditions

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

By undersigning this application, the signatory confirms that:

1. I acknowledge that the use of the facilities offered by the Milnerton Cricket Club shall be at my own risk, and I hereby indemnify the Milnerton Cricket Club against all loss, damage, injuries, costs, charges and expenses which I may sustain or incur arising out of, or attributable to my utilizing these facilities.

2. I agree to pay the annual membership fee (as above) before or on 31 October 2026.

3. I undertake to in writing request for the down payment before 31 October 2026 of my annual membership fee should I not be able to pay it in full before the due date. Failure to make down payment as agreed will result in the annual subscription fee becoming payable immediately.

4. Members not paying their annual membership fee fully on or before 31 December 2026 will not be eligible for selection for any team until payment of the annual membership fee is received in full.

5. Any member not paying their annual subscription fee by 31 March 20267will have no voting rights at any meeting as may be called by the Management Committee.

6. I understand that I remain responsible for paying the Cricket Membership Fees in full, regardless of any circumstances arising due to injury or any other matter which prevents me from completing the 2026/27 season.

7. The only method of payment is by Electronic Fund Transfer. (use your initial, surname and "subs" as EFT reference).

8. I agree to be bound by the Selection Policy established by the Milnerton Cricket Club from time to time.

9. By signing this membership form, I agree to the terms and conditions thereof.

I agree to the Code of Conduct

1. PREAMBLE
All Senior Section members of Milnerton Cricket Club are expected to conform to the
Code of Conduct as set out below.
2. GENERAL:
Players in matches:
- Shall abide by the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) code of
conduct as stipulated in the WPCA handbook,
- Shall not do or say anything that will harm or discredit the club or bring the club
into disrepute,
- Shall not do or say anything that will bring the WPCA into disrepute.
3. ATTENDANCE AT PRACTICES:
- All senior playing members are expected to attend Tuesday and Thursday
practice sessions, failure to attend practices may jeopardize a player’s selection
for matches.
- Players unable to attend practice sessions must notify their respective team
captain timeously.
- Discipline is expected at all times and the instructions of the team captain
and/or Head Coach must be adhered to. 

4. ON THE FIELD:
“On the field” refers to all infringements that may occur within the context of a
match. This
includes behaviour at the side of the field and/or the clubhouse, as well as on the
actual field
of play.
Players, Members and/or Supporters:
- Shall acknowledge that the umpires are in sole control of a cricket match once
a game has begun,
- Shall not abuse an umpire, or dispute a decision, or react in an obviously
provocative or disapproving manner, either towards an umpire, their decision or
generally,
- Shall not from the balcony or any position within the compounds of MSC shout
abuse at any player, supporter or umpire,
- Shall not remonstrate by verbal abuse or by throwing equipment or clothing or
by abusing equipment, when dissatisfied with any situation within the game,
- Shall not indulge in intimidation that goes beyond the laws and spirit of the
game,
- Shall not use crude and/or abusive language, especially comments which can
be construed to be of a racial nature,
- Shall at all times abide by the playing conditions, rules and regulations
organised under the auspices of WPCA. 

5. OFF THE FIELD:
“Off the field” refers to all infringements that may occur before the commencement
or following the conclusion of a match or practice whilst on the Club or opponents’
premises. These infringements include comments which may be made via any
social media either on or off the premises. 

Players, Members and/or Supporters:
- Shall not indulge in intimidation of a Fellow Member, visiting player, visiting
supporter and/or visiting official of WPCA,
- Shall not use crude and/or abusive language, especially comments which can
be construed to be of a racial nature, towards a fellow Member, visiting player,
visiting supporter and/or visiting official of WPCA,
- Bringing the game or MCC into disrepute by broadcasting, publishing or posting
derogatory and/or defamatory comments in any media, including social media
sites,
- Shall not bring or consume their own alcoholic beverages on the Club premises
(Theo Marais Park),
- Shall respect the alcohol rules of another Club and/or facility where a match is
played away from the Club premises,
- Shall respect and comply with the MCC Bar rules especially in terms serving
minors from the bar and not allowing minors to sit in the bar area,
- Shall respect and comply with the No Smoking rule in the MCC Clubhouse

6. BREACHES OF THE CODE OF CODUCT:
Any breach of the Code of Conduct shall be reported to the Club Committee and
any
Player deemed to be in breach of the code of conduct maybe summoned to
appear before the Disciplinary Committee (DC).
7. DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS:
The notice to appear before a DC must be in writing and contain:
- The date and time of the infringement
- The nature of the infringement
- What clause in the Constitution, Code of Conduct or Rules was contravened
- The members right to representation
- Date and time of the hearing
- Procedure upon non attendance
- Scope of sanctions DC empowered to impose
- Hearings shall be convened by the DC.
- The DC shall consist of MCC Committee Members as per the MCC
Constitution.
- Hearings shall take place at the earliest possible convenience.
- In the event that the DC finds a member is guilty of an offence; the penalties
outlined in the WPCA Code of Conduct will be used as a guideline for
sentencing.
